Default Vllokup

I am trying to use a Vlookup formula but the reference value is not in the
first colum of the range but in the third. Is there a way to get around it.

Not with VLOOKUP but perhaps INDEX/MATCH. Can you give an example of your
data?

actually it did work using index/match combination. Thanks.
