Default How to format this way?

Running Excel 2000.

I get the feeling this can't be done: I need 10 cells across, in columns A
through J, all the same size (that's easy). But, below those 10 cells, I'd
like one wide cell, as wide as the 10 above it. This wide cell would be for
long text entries. This pattern needs to repeat down the page. I know I
could stick a text box below the 10 cells, but I wonder if there's a way to
achieve this without a text box.
