When I open Excel 2003, horizontal scrolling works fine...I open 2007 and
nothing. Is there a setting in 2007 that I'm missing?

Check to make sure you haven't frozen columns.

First, select the entire spreadsheet, and unhide all columns.

Then, go to the View section of the ribbon, and, if you have any of the
"Freeze panes" options selected, unselect them.

No frozen columns or hidden columns Dave. And the vertical scroll works and
left and right, and even the 'zoom'. I'd assume it was the mouse except that
the horizontal scroll works everywhere else except Excel 2007. My logic says
it has to be something with Excel 2007. This is a 'trial' version that isn't
fully activated yet...although that really doesn't make sense either. The
same problem occurs in a fresh sheet too.
I'm using logitechs MX1000 mouse. There are no settings there that I'm
aware that would create or solve this phenomenon, and as I said before, the
horizontal scroll is working everywhere else.
Thing that make you go "Mmmmm".

After doing a search in this same section I see I'm not alone and from what I
now understand there is an update to fix this issue. I'm assuming this update
will be available to me after my activated version of Office 2007 and Windows
Vista arrive and are fully installed.
Thank you for your time and consideration Dave.

Well, I have trial version of Office 2007 as well, and have never had a
problem scrolling horizontally. Perhaps try reinstalling? Or else buying
the full package (which went on sale yesterday).

Interesting. Thank you for the further input. It looks like one way or the
other the issue should be fixable.

I think there is a miscommunication here that I've seen in similar threads.
He has a tilt wheel mouse. That means he presses the wheel left or right and
expects the program to respond. It worked fine on everything up to Office
2007. What happened?
