i know how to merge two cells so that i have one long cell and below two
normal cell but i would like to split one cell evenly verticaly this is because i would like 10 cells on the bottom row and 5 cells above it without merging two normal cells as it would mean messing up the rest of the sheet |

You can't split cells in the manner you describe. You can only un-merge
