Default Is vista beta RC1 incompatible with Excel?

I have downloaded vista beta and a trial of Office 2003. My .doc files
open normally with Word, but my .xls files return an "operating system
does not support" error message when I try to "open with" Excel. When
I click "Open" Vista tries to open with Media Center.

I'd appreciate any insights or suggestions. Thank you.

Robert, I haven't seen any replies to your question. Hopefully it's
just a glitch with Vista, and Vista isn't another bomb like Windows ME.
Let us know if you get it sorted out! James
