Hi there,
I have four time series sets of data points. want to convert them into a line chart. excel displays the data points, but does not connect them with lines. i have clicked on the data series, selected automatic -- it did not work. i tried custom, and selected a line, then a thicker line, and these did not work. I'm sure its simple, but I couldn't find a solution on the internet. can anyone help? thanks! |

If they are 4 different series on your graph, then you won't be able to draw
a line between the series. If you want the points joined by a line, you'll need to put them in one series. "Source Data" option, either from the Chart menu or from right-clicking on the chart. Also, if the line chart isn't letting you do what you want in terms of the X-series, you may prefer XY chart (confusingly named scatter). -- David Biddulph wrote in message oups.com... Are there blank cells between plotted points? By default Excel skips these,
leaving a gap. Go to Tools menu Options Chart tab, and choose Interpolate as the option for blank cells. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com _______ wrote in message oups.com... Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your line chart in Excel. Here are some steps that might help you display the lines:
If this doesn't work, you may want to check that your data is formatted correctly. Make sure that your data is in columns or rows, with each series in a separate column or row. Also, make sure that your data is sorted correctly, with the x-axis values in ascending or descending order.
