Automatic re-calculation
Probably an easy one!
When my file re-calculates the message bar at the bottom has started to count tables up to about 50. It seems to be slower than usual (file is 3 meg) and I would like to avoid using manual re-calculation if possible. Can someone explain what has determined this? Many thanks, Thomo |

Automatic re-calculation
Go to Tools Calculation and click on the radio button by Automatic. Make
sure Iteration is unchecked. That should solve your problem. If iteration is checked then it will calculate the number of times specified, and in larger spreadsheets it will count up the number of times. If that is not the problem, then maybe you need more memory. Are you using an old Excel version (95 or 97) and get a message on the bar at the bottom (lower right) that displays CIRC? That means you have a Circular Reference. -- big-bob "Thomo" wrote: Probably an easy one! When my file re-calculates the message bar at the bottom has started to count tables up to about 50. Many thanks, Thomo Thanks for your reply. I'm working with excel 2003 on a 2 year old laptop so I think that is all OK. I've checked that the iterations option is not checked and there is no circ error. Could the re-calculation be displaying "Table:" and a counting number because I've used several small Data Tables for sensitivity analysis? and does this cause it to slow down? Thanks & regards, Thomo |
