Default split a cell diagonally in excell - a calendar -2 dates in 1 cell

Is it possible to split a cell in excell 2000 - diagonally to format in a
calendar - 2 dates in one cell?

You may be able to use alt-enter and space characters to get close to what you
want, but don't do it.

You'll find that life gets a lot easier when you put each field in its own
column.
