Default Basic problem with EXCEL 2002

Using EXCEL 2002, I left-clicked on a worksheet tab by accident.

The result of this was exasperating, to say the least. The result I
got was that a blank-page icon attached to the arrow, and I could find
absolutely no way to undo this step, to get back to the situation
before I wrongly left-clicked.

The blank-page icon was permanently stuck to the arrow, and all the
menus etc. were closed to me (I got the no-entry icon).

I googled extensively for a solution to this problem but to no avail.

Thanks for your help.

Paul
