Default Excel Lists in a Protected Spreadsheet

I am creating a couple of spreadsheets in Excel in which most cells are
locked. I need another user to be able to add data to the list and that's it
(hence the locked cells). Once I protect the worksheet I am not able to add
to the list and i really need the workbook to be protected
