Default Pivot Table - Preserve Formatting

Excel 2003/WinXP:

In my pivot table, the Table Options Preserve Formatting is checked.
However, if I set the the 'Total' column in the pivot table to to bold, it
reverts back to regular (not-bold) every time I refresh the pivot table.

Does anyone know how to make the 'Total' column retain its bold setting,
even after a refresh? Thanks for your help ..

Bill
