Default ODBC connection failed.

Hi,

I'm trying to create a pivot table report using a query already established
in MS-Access. I keep getting an error message and am not sure of how to
resolve it. I am using the pivot table and pivot chart wizard. Here is what
I'm doing:

1. Choose "External data source".
2. Click on "Get Data".
3. Select "MS Access Database*".
4. I select the database and query I want to use and get a message from
Microsoft query stating "ODBC connection to ... failed."

How can I get this to work?
5. I don't want to add any more filters and sorts because the query already
has that.
6. I leave "Return data to microsoft office excel" selected.
7. After I click finish I get a
