Is nested subtotals possible within a list in Excel?

Default subtotal in a list

If this is an Excel 2003 List, you can convert the list to a range, then
use the Subtotal command.
After you apply one subtotal, choose the Subtotal command again.
Select the next subtotal settings, and remove the check mark from
'Replace current subtotals'
