Default hide formulas

- Right-click on any range/ cell
- Select Format
- Select "Protection" tab
- Select "Hidden"

it has no effect until it is protected.

.. it has no effect until it is protected.

Just to add on a little to complete the above line ..

The "it" refers to the worksheet,
so we'd need to apply sheet protection via clicking:
Tools Protection Protect Sheet Password? OK
to achieve the desired effect of hiding the formulas

The password on sheet protection is easily cracked so be aware that hiding the
formulas keeps only the novice from seeing them.
