Default Missing data using the autofilter

I have a spreadsheet with 4600 rows. The data in these rows have been
imported using 'Data-Import External Data-Import Data'. The first line is
the header and the remainder lines are data. There are no blanks rows until
the end of data. Non of the cells are blank or Null. When I use the drop
down list I don't see all my data. This has already caused a problem since I
missed crucial information becuase the filter did not process correctly.

If I copy this data in a blank sheet and filter the data using the
autofilter, everything shows up as I would expect.

Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to resolve this problem without
copying and pasting?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I just found out that there is a limit of 1000 entries in the dropdown list.

That is correct.

To workaround, use the Custom and its arguments.
