I am taking a statistics class and am doing my homework in Excel. The
teacher want us to show our work and I am trying to locate the X bar symbol (X with a line on top of it) or create it. In Word there is a formula ({eq\0(x,-)}. Is there something in Excel that works? |

![]() Use the equation editor. you may need to install it, add-remove programs, microsoft office, change. then you need to go into detailed optioins (depending on your version of office this will be worded differently) it's a part of the office tools menu path. Make sure you choose run from hard drive then in excel/word/whatever insert-object-microsoft equation 3.0 there's all kinds of neat things if you're doing statistics -- MDubbelboer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MDubbelboer's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=36330 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=563443 |

I downloaded the equation editor and your right, it does provide some cool
statistic stuff. I'm going to share with my class and maybe gain some extra points. Thanks! If you do not want to use the MS Equation editor, there are some alternatives:
xbar is Alt-0214 in the Math Ext font from http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/wptoword.html xbar is Alt-0120 in the MS Reference 1 font Jerry "JICDB" wrote: I am taking a statistics class and am doing my homework in Excel.
