When copying excel charts into powerpoint as a picture (enhanced metafile) I
lose the colours i.e. they appear in black and white when pasted into
powerPoint.

Did you copy them as a picture using appearance as printed? With a B&W
printer installed?

How do you copy a chart as a picture in Excel 2007? Equivalent to
shift+edit, Copy Picture in Excel 2003.

It is still there, but you have to add it yourself. Go to the Excel OPtionbs
(Office button) en choose Customize. Choose All commands at Choose commands
from. You wil see Copy Picture. Click on Add and you'll see in in the Quick
Access Toolbar. It works the same as in older versions.

Or you can click on the bottom part of the Paste button (Home tab of the
ribbon, Clipboard group). This expands to several Paste Special options, and
also the Copy Picture command. I found it by accident.

Wow, I didn't expect it here (why do you find a copy-option in the
Paste-button??), but you are right!
Thanks
