I have a graph that shows both negative and positive variances on the y axis.
Therefore the zero value axis runs thru the centre of graph and if one wants to put some labels associated with the x axis ie Jan, Feb, ... these appear in the middle of the graph not neatly below the plot area as I would prefer. Any clues? TIA -- Ken "Using Dbase dialects since 82" "Started with Visicalc in the same year" |

Format the y-axis.
you should see an option to set where the x-axis crosses at. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "K_Macd" wrote: I have a graph that shows both negative and positive variances on the y axis. Keep the axis where it is, to show where zero is. Instead, choose the
"Low" position for the tick labels. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier Peltier Technical Services, Inc. http://peltiertech.com/ Luke M wrote: Format the y-axis. you should see an option to set where the x-axis crosses at. |

Luke - That did the job!
Jon - Could't quite see that 'low' option (avail in xl2003?) but thanks for the response -- Ken "Using Dbase dialects since 82" "Started with Visicalc in the same year" "Jon Peltier" wrote: Keep the axis where it is, to show where zero is. In 2003 it's on the Patterns tab of the Format Axis dialog, in the
bottom right of the dialog, under Tick Mark Labels. In 2007 it's on the Axis Options tab of the Format Axis dialog, 2/3 of the way down, next to Axis Labels. The benefit of this approach is that your leave the axis at Y=0, which helps decode the plotted values. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier Peltier Technical Services, Inc. http://peltiertech.com/ K_Macd wrote: Luke - That did the job!
