Here's my take on these dial gauge charts:
http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/SpeedometerXP.html Sure, you can construct them in Excel, but they are actually very poor at presenting useful data. In fact, the metaphor of dashboard as jet fighter cockpit is itself flawed.
