Default Positioning a drawn line shape on a chart

Hello - I have a user who is visually indicating a separation in data on his
chart by drawing a line from the category axis to the top of the plot area.
He is using one of the tick markers on the category axis as his start point.
The question is this:

If he is off the tick marker a little, is there a way to nudge the line into
position, or is manually dragging the only way to move the line?

For example, drawn objects can be nudged into position using the arrow keys
on the keyboard, or CTRL with the arrow to nudge in even smaller increments.
When the drawn object is on a chart, however, using the arrow keys just moves
you between other areas of the chart. It won't nudge the drawn object.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, you could show him the nudge controls on the drawing toolbar. But a
better approach to draw a straight line on a chart is to use a data series
which can be positioned exactly according to value:

Default Positioning a drawn line shape on a chart

Hi Jon,

I'm using Excel 2007 - is there a "nudge" tool on one of the tabs that will
move a selected line? I haven't been able to find one. That would be the fix.

My user is drawing a line as a separator of information - he does not need
to indicate a value. He uses drawing tools to add more information beyond the
represented data. Thanks so much for the link you sent, though.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!

They didn't think these were important enough to clutter the ribbon with, I
guess. Perhaps they can be added to the QAT.
