Thanks for your reply and the previous replies that pointed me in the right
direction. In my version of excel 2007, I selected the "format axis" then "axis options" then "axis type" then "text axis. -- Geoff "Jon Peltier" wrote: Excel 2007 has a completely rearranged interface for charting, so all the familiar objects are gone, or hidden.
