Default Chart filling in dates that aren't supposed to be there

Thanks for your reply and the previous replies that pointed me in the right
direction. In my version of excel 2007, I selected the "format axis" then
"axis options" then "axis type" then "text axis.

Excel 2007 has a completely rearranged interface for charting, so all the
familiar objects are gone, or hidden. Chart Options is gone, and its
constituent parts are dispersed to the wind. Right click on the category
axis, choose Format..., and in the dialog, check the Category option, not
Automatic or Date Scale.

I should have mentioned that I am using Excel 2007. When I right-click the
chart, "chart options" is not one of the options.

Hi,

You could right-click the chart, choose Chart Options, Axis, and change
the
x-axis to Category.
