x axis info changing
I have a line chart which is plotting financial data for 3 seperate lists
withing my spreadsheet. So list A has a set of dates and dollar amounts that correspond to those dates, list B has a different set of dates and corresponding financial info, and the same for list C. I need to show in the line graph all 3 lists with their corresponding dates and financial data. I went to the source data, series tab, and created 3 series for my 3 lists (A, B, C). My question is how do I get the info from all 3 series to reflect in my X axis (as it only allows me to select one set of dates). I need the dollar amounts to be plotted on my chart with the corresponding dates, for each individual series. The info on the Y axis is the dollar amount, the info on the X axis are the dates. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Forget the fact that the default scatter chart has points and no lines, and a line chart has lines. You can easily give the scatter chart series lines too. -- Del Cotter NB Personal replies to this post will send email to , which goes to a spam folder-- please send your email to del3 instead. |

Thanks that works. The only thing is that it's adding years to my actual
data. For example, my data ends at 2006, yet the chart goes up to 2008. Any ideas on how to fix. What's the data look like? Could you paste in a sample of the three series?

Sometimes I like to use a line chart, because its date scale axis is better
than what I can get from an XY chart's value axis. What I do for multiple series is create the line chart with the first series, then add the other series, and change them to XY series. The XY series will share the line chart's axis but not the X values of the first series. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. - http://PeltierTech.com _______ "Del Cotter" wrote in message ...
