I reduced the frequency and severity of chart redrawing problems by running a
repair installation: Office Button/Excel Options/Resources/Diagnose After the diagnosis I got a notification that repairs were made (sorry I don't remember exact message) and chart drawing, while still not super reliable, is improved. I am disappointed with the reduced efficiency in changing chart settings. "Andyroo" wrote: I just installed Office 2007Ultimate. Was working on regression analysis and the first time I tried generating regression analysis I got weird problems with the autogenerated charts. I can duplicate with the following actions: 1. open excel/new worksheet. 2. enter 1-10 in column A, rows 1-10 3. enter a formula like =a1*2 in cell b1 and drag to b10 4 Data/Data Analysis/Regression Y range = $A$1:$A$10 X range = $B$1:$B$10 -new worksheet ply (selected by default on mine) -check every checkbox for residuals and probability click <OK 5. move a chart on the new worksheet ply (drag the normal probability chart down) On my installation, every time I do this, the text "stays" where the chart was, while the box and the bar graph move to where I drag the chart. but the "text" that stayed is not selectable, and the chart redrawing becomes sporadic and unpredictable, and the text appears on the newly moved chart if I click on where it should be. sometimes. Basically the whole screen redrawing feature falls apart until I save and reopen the file. Then the chart behaves normally. |
