change settings in a single workbook that doesn't effect another w
i would like to make changes to an excel workbook such as in the options
(remove the appearance of the formula bar for example) but don't want the changes to occur in other excel workbooks. can this be done? |

That is a global setting and will affect all workbooks.
You could use Workbook event code to disable and enable. Private Sub Workbook_Open() Application.DisplayFormulaBar = False End Sub Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean) Application.DisplayFormulaBar = True End Sub If the workbook is to remain open whilst other workbooks are open use the following. Private Sub Workbook_Activate() Application.DisplayFormulaBar = False End Sub Private Sub Workbook_Deactivate() Application.DisplayFormulaBar = True End Sub Right-click on the Excel logo left of "File" on the menu and select "View Code" Copy/paste into that module.
