Default 2007 - 2003 File Size

I have a workbook with two pivots and created from 59,000 rows of data. When
I save it in the 2007 xlsx format its 16M, but when I save in in the 2003 xls
format it grows to 108M. Can anyone tell me why the 2003 file is so much
larger?

John

Hi John

The 2007 fileformat is just a zipped folder -rename it from .xlsx to .zip
and see what happens. So it isn't the 2003 file that is larger, it is the
2007 file that is smaller. Compression ratio depends on the content.

Best wishes Harald
