Default Modified date issues when saving to mapped drives using Excel 2007

Hi,

If I open Excel 2003 documents saved either locally or on a mapped drive
using Excel 2007 and then close them without saving, the documents' modified
date does not change. This is expected.
If I do the above and then click on Save As to save the document under a
different name then the modified date of the locally stored original document
does not change. The date of the file on the mapped drive however changes to
the date/time of the renamed file.
If the document was created originally in Excel 2007 then this does not
happen.

Please help.
