Default How do I stop Excel from closing the open file each time I open a.

Using Microsoft Office 2004 Excel I am unable to have open only one
file/workbook at a time. When I try to open two workbooks at a time in Excel
- the first workbook closes. This is really frustrating and I need to be
able to work with multiple workbooks. I have been unable to find how to this
problem occurred or how to fix it.

Office 2003???

When you open the second workbook, maybe the first workbook is just hidden under
that newly opened workbook.

Window|arrange|tiled

would show you all of them.

You can select an open workbook by clicking on its name at the bottom of that
Window menu.

Or you can use ctrl-f6 and ctrl-shift-f6 to toggle between open workbooks.

ctrl-tab and ctrl-shift-tab do the same thing.

Excel 2004 is the Mac version so assume OP is on a Mac.

Don't know if the Mac has the same window arranging system or shortcut keys as
Windows, but worth a try<g
