Default 25 charater product key is incorrect

I purchased a compact computer with windows vista from Walmart last year.

No CD's or user guide came with the computer. I have entered the product
key located on the side of my hardrive, but I'm recieving the message:
Poduct Key is incorrect.

I tried contacting HP support number recieved with the computer, thier
message read: DO NOT RETURN YOUR DESKTOP PC TO YOUR RETAILER. As our valued
customer, we want to make sure that your support needs are met and any issues
are resolved as quickly as possible.

Well my issue wasn't resolved and I became upset because they directed me to
go to Walmart and see why my product key doesn't work. I'm not going back to
Walmart its been over a year, I just currently received internet access and
was hoping to recieve some positive assistance with my issue.

Please keep in mind, I'm not very computer knowledgeable......but I'll try
my best!

Thank you so much for your time!

Hi Susi,

This is an Excel user's group, everyday people helping each other
in the use of Excel. No-one here is affiliated with Microsoft or HP.

From what you say, your problem is definitely with the reseller who
sold you the product, not HP and not Microsoft.

Just because it has been over a year shouldn't make any difference,
I think you should go to Walmart and say fix it.

Regards
Martin

You have had the computer for a year and you are just now installing Windows
or are you attempting a repair/install of Windows?

Or are you trying to install or repair MS Office?

Please provide some details.

thier just a high school teenager experiencing thier first job and I don't
quite know what I'm suppose to be asking.

I haven't yet seen too many details.

You have Windows Vista and Office 2007 installed already. OK.

So...................When and why are you attempting to enter the 25-digit
product key?

And which 25-digit product key are you talking about?

Windows or Office.........they each have one.
