Default is there a way to change the default location of an excel comment

For example, instead of displaying the comment box to the right of the cell,
can it be moved to another location (above cell, to the left, etc.) without
locking it to display at all times and/or can the red corner tab be set up to
display on the lower left-hand corner of a cell?

Default

Not by default, although you will already know they can be dragged anywhere
you want. The triangle is also fixed as the other corners are used for other
indicators, (smart tags, address locators, etc)
