Default OPEN A FILE

When I want to open a file in Excel the files list in Date Used order.

Does anyone know if I can change the Default for the Explorer so that when I
hit the Icon to Open a File the "Open Box" shows the files listed in
alphabetical order.

Thanks

Default OPEN A FILE

Hi

Click on Name in the header above the file list. This will then sort by
name instead of date.
You will see a small arrow alongside name pointing either up or down.
Clicking Name again acts as a toggle and you can change the sort from
Ascending to Descending.

The same applies to each of the other headers, Size, Type, Date or
whatever other attribute you have allocated to the title bar.

Thanks Roger.

Do you know if it is possible to change the default though so that the Name
order appears every time I seek to open a file?

I would imagine it takes whatever the last setting was in Windows
Explorer / My Computer
If you open Windows Explorer, sort the directory listing by Name, then I
assume that is what Excel will use when you use FileOpen
