Default Excel 2007's formula box is very annoying

Well personally, I would find a formula box that resizes in that way would
be very annoying. Herein in lies the problem for MS, one man's meat ...

I know that! What I was trying to say is that there should be an option to
change the behaviour of the formula box so that it would AUTOMATICALLY
resize
the formula box. For example, there's a 10-line string in cell A1 and a
40-line string in cell B1. And when I'd go to A1 the formula box would
automatically resize itself to 10 lines and when I'd go to B1 there would
be
40 lines visible. Just like it was in Excel 10! Then it would be so much
quicker and easier to edit formulas and data.

I think it's possible to write a VB script which would almost do this job
but I'd rather like to see this thing as a part of the software.

You can actually grab the bottom line of the formula box and drag it
down,
making it as big as you want.

Hello, I downloaded Excel 2007 trial version and here's my comments
(and
sorry for my bad english).

In Excel 10, one could see the cell contents immediately when the cell
became active. For example, if I had a string of 2000 characters in a
cell
I
could see in the formula box as much of this string as fits in the
screen
when I choose that cell. But in Excel 12 this seems not to be possible.
Instead, the formula box is "fixed" sized. There's only one, three or
other
predefined amount of rows visible at the same time. And now there's a
scrollbar in the formula box. Did the developers really think that this
new
formula box is better than the earlier? This is not good at all!

Am I the only one who thinks that there should be more options for
customizing Excel 2007's formula box? The formula box in Excel 10 was
perfect. Very intuitive and handy, and it was possible to insert huge
amounts
of data in one cell and access to the data very easy and fast.

The product seems otherwise good but I'm not going to buy it unless the
great Excel 10 formula box becomes available! The formula box is
Excel's
heart!
