retaining cell data once entered
is it possible for a cell to be un-altered once data has been inputted?
i.e. if in A1 the letter "Y" is entered then it cannot be altered unless by a nominated person any ideas? regards Hoyt |

Not really, you could protect the sheet and give the password to someone
that enters a value but if you mean to capture a value entered by one person and only have another person being able to edit it would be very hard. You would need code that would protect the sheet once an entry has been made but that can be overcome by changing macro security and not enable macros and if someone really wanted to know how to get around it there is always Google. -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom Excel 95 - Excel 2007 Northwest Excel Solutions www.nwexcelsolutions.com "It is a good thing to follow the first law of holes; if you are in one stop digging."
