![]() Hello, I am totally new to excel and I've been handed an availabilities spreadsheet to maintain. Can someone help me figure out how to write a formula that will give me the total minutes per month for the years 2003/2004 and 2005. This is the information I received -----** The total number of minutes in month (28, 29, 30, or 31 days *1440 min/day) minus the sum of planned downtimes------ and also this formula which doesn't work------=(EOMONTH(A37,0)-A37+1)*1440-------- with the explanation that AXXis the column representing the month-year. Keep in mind that I have NEVER worked in excel before. Any information will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Bizyb ![]() -- bizyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bizyb's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=28539 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=482010 |

Hi!
this formula which doesn't work------=(EOMONTH(A37,0)-A37+1)*1440 What does "which doesn't work" mean? If A37 is the FIRST day of the month and is a true Excel date formatted to display as month-year then the formula DOES work. For example: The true value of A37 = 1/1/2003 but it's formatted to display as Jan-03. Biff "bizyb" wrote in message ... You need to install the ATP add-in, look under toolsadd-ins and select ATP
(Analysis ToolPak), keep the office/excel cd handy and follow the instructions -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom "bizyb" wrote in message ... ![]() Thanks Peo Sjoblom It worked like a charm. GREAT TIMING - getting this working made me look good for my performance review. I had asked our 2 "resident experts" on two different occasions with no response. You are very much appreciated. Thanks again bizyb :) :) -- bizyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bizyb's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=28539 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=482010 |
