Excel 2007 to Outlook 2007
Need a step by step method of importing my contacts from an Excel sheet to my
Outlook 2007 contacts. Because of other comments on the forum, I tried to save the worksheet as a .cvs (windows) file. But got an error message that Outlook couldn't interpret the data. Then I tried to import as .xls file. The error message said the I needed to "Name a Range." I followed the directions in Help and saved the file under a new name. For the life of me, I can't figure out what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, or why I still get an error message when I try to import data in Outlook. A more detailed step-by-step for "naming a range" would be a helpful start. Make the assumption that I know little about Excel. Thanks. |

Excel 2007 to Outlook 2007
The following are terrific step-by-step instructions for importing excel
files into outlook. http://www.outlookpower.com/issues/i...001954001.html I was able to import 8 of the 10 columns, unfortunately the names of the contacts were left off. Tried again and now I get am Odbc (or is it obdc) error saying Outlook can't import because it can't map. Something about too much information. Aren't these both Microsoft products?? Why is this so difficult. "chaucersmom" wrote: Need a step by step method of importing my contacts from an Excel sheet to my Outlook 2007 contacts. Well I don't know where you got THAT from in "Help" - mine certainly doesn't tell you to do a "Save As" when naming a range. Select all the data, then in the Name box at the top L/H side, next to the formula bar, type in a name. Simple as that. -- Asking a question? Excel 2007 to Outlook 2007
I believe the info came from help + from various members of this forum + the
help file listed in this thread. In the end I was able to import data into Outlook from Excel, but only by saving the data in Excel in Comma delimited (Windows) format. (This method took several attempts to get it to work.) Naming the range simply did not work for me. Thanks for your input. "Gordon" wrote: "chaucersmom" wrote in message ...
