Default conditional formatting

in lotus 123 there was a useful / often used conditional formatting (by
background colour) of unprotected cells for data input. This s/be top of
chain of conditional formatting yet if exists must be well hidden / and there
is no help found on this basic feature.

Default conditional formatting

Before you suggest something you might want to check out if this
functionality exists

If you select all cells and do formatconditional formatting and formula is

=CELL("protect",A1)=0

Default conditional formatting

Thanks Peo, this works. I'm impressed but as not very intuitive and not easy
to find except by MVP user - I would still suggest this be more user
friendly. It is a valuable use and I have challenged many excel "experts" to
show me this before and they could not.
regards

I agree that help in all versions except Excel 97 is bad, maybe that is
where the suggestion should be at. Let's face it, help in Excel these days
is horrible
