You can put macros in your Personal.xls workbook or in an add-in and

Two ways to look at this question.
1. You want one macro to do something to every Excel workbook in a folder. See Ron de Bruin's site for copy/paste/merge examples. http://www.rondebruin.nl/tips.htm 2. You want a macro to be available to run on any workbook that is open. See JE's reply.
