Default name box in excel 2003

Just a thought for a quick check
(but I think Anne's response would have nailed your issue) ..

In a new sheet,
Select A1, then click Insert Name Paste Paste list
Check the pasted list for any errors in the defined names,
eg: =#REF!$A$1:$B$1
