Default How can I add whole numbers to fractions?

I am trying to produce a chart that will add up FT-IN, is this possible with
Excel?

If you are starting with feet in decimal form, say A1 contains 12.1, then

=INT(A1)&"' "&INT(12*(A1-INT(A1)))&""" "&TEXT(MOD(12*(A1-INT(A1)),1),"##/##")

will display

12' 1" 1/5


as feet-inches-fractional inches


If you are starting out with feet and inches, then put them in separate cells.

Default How can I add whole numbers to fractions?

I generally enter such measurements in the form 2 4/12 (I format the range
with custom format # ??/12 to prevent Excel making this 2 1/3)
Such values can be mathematically manipulated (summed, averaged, etc)
