Default what is an .lnk file

..lnk files are usually shortcuts to other files--any type of files including
..xls, .exe.

If you right click on it and choose properties, you should see a "ShortCut" tab.

You can see what the shortcut points to by looking at its target.

If that file is really a shortcut file, then it isn't your workbook--it's a
pointer to your workbook.
