vlookup not returning full field value (text)

Hi
I have a field that is utilising the Vlookup function to pull back text
values in an external spreadsheet. The problem is it is only returning the
first 255 characters.

How can I get over this, I thought 2003 Excel could how 32,000 characters in
a cell
