Default can you prevent viewing of specific columns in a worksheet

Would like to share an excel worksheet, but both protect modification of the
entire worksheet (simple enough -- know how to do that), but would also like
to hide viewing of a specific column or columns. Is this possible?

Hi Tamara

if you hide the columns before you protect the worksheet then they can not
be unhidden unless the password is known (or cracked, which BTW is pretty
easy to do). Therefore, the best thing to do is create a new workbook with
only the data that you want the recipient to be able to see (ever) and then
send them that. This process can be made less painful through the use of
VBA.

Cheers
