Default Title in one cell covering space of 3 cells underneath

I am trying to put the title of a book in one cell and center it over 3 cells
underneath. I only want one cell on top of the three.

Select the three cells then go
Format|Cells|Alignment|Horizontal:|Center Across Selection|OK
