Default Protecting columns?

Has anyone found a way to protect formulas with a cell, while still allowing
user to make entries. Essentially, is it possible to disallow deleting
within a cell, while still allowing data entry?

What?

If you allow a user to make an entry in a cell containing a formula, the
formula is gone! The whole idea of a formula is to do something based on the
value in another cell, not that cell. I think you should be a bit more
specific with what your problem is!
