Can I make a group of cells in Column A, "float" or stay near the top left of
the spreadsheet as I scroll down? |

Click on the cell just below the lowest cell that you want to anchor and go
to Window Freeze Panes. -- Ken Hudson "Clark" wrote: Can I make a group of cells in Column A, "float" or stay near the top left of the spreadsheet as I scroll down? |

Thanks ken, but I want to be able to freeze these few cells in column A, and
still scroll the remainder of the rows in Columns B to Z independently. Hi Clark,
Sounds like to want to freeze A1:A3 for example and then be able to scroll the rest of the columns and line up B10 with A1 for example. I can't see how that could happen. -- Ken Hudson "Clark" wrote: Thanks ken, but I want to be able to freeze these few cells in column A, and still scroll the remainder of the rows in Columns B to Z independently. As Ken has stated, really can't be done. If you think about your question, you will realise that you will be lining data up with data that is not relative to the first column. You can freeze some rows and some columns but you can't do both HTH Michael M "Clark" wrote: Thanks ken, but I want to be able to freeze these few cells in column A, and still scroll the remainder of the rows in Columns B to Z independently. What about creating a "button" that floats as you scroll?

If you put the button in the "Frozen" area, no problems. If you want to have it anywhere else, you're getting into the animation realm, which can sometimes pretty compplex. Another option is to put your button up in one of the toolbars, so it's there all the time. HTH Michael M "Clark" wrote: What about creating a "button" that floats as you scroll? Something a little different. Try a "Watch" window...

Clark,
Another potential solution would be to create a second window using Window-New Window Then the two windows can be scrolled completely independently. HTH, Ryan "Clark" wrote: Can I make a group of cells in Column A, "float" or stay near the top left of the spreadsheet as I scroll down? |
