Default Floating Cells

If you put the button in the "Frozen" area, no problems.
If you want to have it anywhere else, you're getting into the animation
realm, which can sometimes pretty compplex.
Another option is to put your button up in one of the toolbars, so it's
there all the time.

What about creating a "button" that floats as you scroll?

As Ken has stated, really can't be done.
If you think about your question, you will realise that you will be lining
data up with data that is not relative to the first column.
You can freeze some rows and some columns but you can't do both

Thanks ken, but I want to be able to freeze these few cells in column A, and
still scroll the remainder of the rows in Columns B to Z independently.

Click on the cell just below the lowest cell that you want to anchor and go
to Window Freeze Panes.

Can I make a group of cells in Column A, "float" or stay near the top left of
the spreadsheet as I scroll down?
