My boss and I need to share a spreadsheet which uses a macro that is
defined in an addin. He is running windows xp with excel 97 and I'm running OS X 10.3.9 with excel 2004. When I first tried to use the spreadsheet I got these errors saying excel couldn't find macro. I determined the problem was for some reason the path to the addin was in the formula and excel thought the macro name was a range. I was able to use the macro and the spread by using find and replace to remove the path from all the formulas which used the macro. All was well and good until earlier today my boss made some change to the worksheet and now all the addin paths are showing up again. I have not asked him if he had any trouble using the macro from the addin after I had saved it previously. Obviously I can always do a find and replace on the add-in paths whenever I open up the file, but that is really annoying and I have to use the spreadsheet 2 to 3 times a week. So after all that backstory here is my question: 1. Are the lack of complete paths to the add-in causing trouble for my boss? 2. Is there anyway to get excel on mac to realize the file path points to the add-in which it already has installed? Your help is greatly appreciated. -RT |
