Default Cannot hide columns in Excel

I find the following error message whenever I try to hide certain columns in
one
of my excel workbooks (through macro).
"Unable to set the Hidden Property of the Range Class. Error=1004"
This happens after hiding a few columns. When I try further to hide
manually, the
error message is
"Cannot shift objects off sheet"
and I cannot hide. Can sombody please help me to ?

First, I would try to run the file on another computer to isolate is the
trouble is within the file itself, or within your installation of Excel.
