Problems with links to another workbook
I am trying to link cells in 2 workbooks and have done this many times
before, but when linking the cells in 1 specific workbook to another workbook, the cells are showing the formula for the link (ie =[....]Test!A1) and not the contents of the linked cell which normally happens - tried Office Online Help and can't locate anything - please help - I am using Excel 2003. -- Thanks, Kev G |

Problems with links to another workbook
First format the cell(s) as general, and try reinserting the formula. Your

Problems with links to another workbook
Thanks for the response. Have tried that - still does not solve the problem.
When the link is first created it shows the correct information, but as soon as I remove the $ sign so I can drag the formula down to other cells it reverts to just showing the link/formula and not the contents of the source cell. -- Thanks, Kev G "Anne Troy" wrote: First format the cell(s) as general, and try reinserting the formula. Problems with links to another workbook
If you have actually followed Anne's advice without success, then your
problem is a perplexing one. A workaround - albeit a perhaps unsatisfactory one - would be to select and copy all the cells you want to reference and then do a paste-link in the workbook that is giving you problems "Kev G" wrote: Thanks for the response.
