larger. I do not know how they got so small, but I can hardly see them. I

The only way you can change the size of text in the worksheet tabs is
to change your screen resolution. That you could do by right clicking
on a blank portion of your Desktop, select Properties from the pop-up
menu, click on the Settings tab in the dialog, and choose an
lower/lesser screen resolution.

You can only do it through a Windows-wide setting.
On your Windows desktop, right click on a blank area of the screen,
PropertiesAppearanceAdvancedScroll Bar increase the sizeApplyOK

This is for Windows XP. The options were titled slightly differently I
seem to recall in earlier versions of Windows.
